10 Years Ago Former Warsaw standout Steve Reed was named to the 1977 Silver Anniversary Team recently at Primo Banquet Hall in Indianapolis in front of a sell-out 1,200 guests. This ceremony was in conjunction with the inductees for induction into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. Reed was nominated for consideration in the team by his former assistant coach and present coach of the Warsaw Tigers, Al Rhodes.
25 Years Ago Ray Levy, who lives in Warsaw, was inteviewed recently by Mike Leonard on NBC's "Today" show. Levy related some of his experiences of 51 years with the Fuller Brush Company. Levy's brother, Ralph, was also inteviewed about serving 54 years with Fuller. The two Levys spent most of their years in managerial work.
50 Years Ago Mrs. Donald Schue, 24, of Warsaw is a proud mom of twin daughters, Delana Kae and Donna Rae, born Tuesday, March 20th at the Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw. They weighed seven pounds, two ounces, and six pounds, seven ounces, respectively. The Schues' other children - also girls are Sherry Lynn, 5, Lisa Renee, 3, and Holly Dee, 2. Their father, 29, is employed by the Warsaw Foundry. Mrs. Schue is the former Eileen Keppler.
75 Years Ago Miss Charlotte Marie Butler and Donald Butler were guests recently of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Bemendorfer of Muncie, summer residents of Winona Lake. They also attended the basketball tournament. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur F. Maish, Jr., returned recently to Warsaw after spending three weeks in Florida and other places in the south.
