    They're rough and preliminary, but the Kosciusko County jail expansion drawings are taking shape.

County Administrator Ron Robinson said there was still much work and discussion to do before a final drawing would be made. He said he hopes more definite drawings will be available in mid-April.

March 19 1984

    TERRE HAUTE - Michael L. Sundheimer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Sundheimer, Warsaw, has been elected president of the Theta Xi Fraternity at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology for the 1984-85 academic year.

Sundheimer, a junior physics major, is a 1981 graduate of Warsaw Community High School.

    Should you folks acquainted with County Agent Don Frantz notice that here of late he is not puffing his briar quite so frequently - this is part of the reason why. Don had a "man-to-man" talk with his 5-year-old son recently. The youngster was watching television with his father. Don said, "Jimmie, I would appreciate it if you would quit sucking your thumb." Said Jimmie after careful thought, "Tell you what Dad - you quit smoking your pipe and I'll quit sucking my thumb."

March 19 1934

    Carl Topp, well-known pursuer of the finny tribe, and three companions on a fishing expedition got a chilly ducking in Winona Lake. They were leaving the ice heavily ladened with their afternoon's catch when the extra weight added to their own broke through the ice about 10 feet from shore in rather deep water. They all managed to get out but their spring bath came several weeks earlier than usual this year.
