    Students from Thompson's Family Taekwondo competed in the fourth United Taekwondo Federation martial arts tournament at the Indiana National Guard Armory on Feb. 28.

Warsaw's Dustin Hollar, 16, took second place in the men's black belt sparring competition.

March 19 1983

    Warsaw freshman Missy Herndon received a trophy as a result of her winning three events in the 13-14 age group in the state Junior Olympic swimming meet recently. She won the high-point trophy for her age group and in the process she set five Kosciusko Community YMCA team records.

March 19 1958

    Pvt. Richard D. Hepler, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Othel Hepler, Nappanee, was one of more than 100,000 soldiers taking part in "Sabre Hawk," a Seventh Army maneuver in Germany. Richard is with Battery B. 288th field artillery battalion. He went to Europe last May.

March 19 1933

    Mrs. Earl Sarber and her daughter, of south of Burket, were slightly injured during the cyclone which struck that locality Monday night. Both Mrs. Sarber and the daughter were in the kitchen of their home when the wall was crushed in and a brooder house which had blown against the wall was deposited on the kitchen floor. A part of the brooder house roof, after the excitement had died down, was found under the kitchen table.

One hundred telephone poles were blown down, 60 telephones were reported out of commission and all toll lines were out of commission in that section.
