    Three band members at Warsaw Community High School were selected for the 1998 Indiana All-State High School Band. They are Sarah Ver Hage, Justin Miller and Ryan Bruick. Each student earned the honor by participating in a highly competitive audition in early January.

    POTPOURRI - Racing in Sunny South - Doug Kittrell, who helps his father, Windy Kittrell, operate the Marathon Service Station in downtown Warsaw, is racing his Camaro in Gainsville, Fla., this weekend.

March 14 1958

    A Larwill High School senior, Junior Mullenax, placed first in the Future Farmers of America speaking contest at Milford and will compete in the state contest.

Mullenax, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tiffin Mullenax Sr., Larwill, will represent section I at the state convention April 3-5 at Purdue University. His winning speech was "Stop the Advancement of Rats."

March 14 1933

    A special program for local talent night at the Centennial Theatre has been announced by the theater management.

Jack Vampner and Judd Bumbaugh, of Warsaw, will give a musical selection with string instruments. Dale Beacraft, of Warsaw, will give a vocal selection. Three young women from Atwood will give several vocal selections. They are known as "The Sing Song Girls." Wayne and Eugene Zolman, of Claypool, will give a tap dance. Eugene puts on a tap dance and his father plays the guitar. The Span brothers, of Pierceton, will put on a singing and musical act.
