    The second annual benefit for Combined Community Services was a big hit at 2517 Restaurant. Word has it Biomet CEO Dane Miller helped prepare dinner for the "Crazy Waiters Dinner" and a table of men wearing dresses and cowboy hats sung the old Helen Reddy tune "I Am Woman."

The benefit raised an estimated $11,000.

March 12 1982

    Indiana Central sophomore Randy Heisler has just completed a highly successful indoor track season for the Greyhounds.

The former Warsaw Community High School track and basketball standout won the Portland-Mason-Dixon Games meet held in Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky., with a personal best of 56-2 in the shot put. Two weeks later, he won the Purdue Relays with another personal best of 56-3-1/2

    The team of John Bennett and Connie Stavropulos defeated the team of Seth Lewis and Carole Stone in intramural debate finals at Warsaw High School.

Trophies were awarded to first-place winners and medals to the runners-up.

March 12 1932

    Officers elected at the formation of the Jackson Township branch of the Kosciusko County Taxpayers' Association are: Benjamin Jontz, president; Edward Gaylor, vice president; Lester Layman, secretary; and J.E. Scott, treasurer. More than 100 Jackson Township taxpayers were present at the organization of the branch.
