    Erin Silveus and Tony Rice were selected as first place medalists in the Warsaw Noon Optimist Club Oratorical Contest.

Sixteen students from Lakeland Christian Academy spoke for four to five minutes on the theme "My Vision of Tomorrow's World."

March 10 1982

    MUNCIE - Two Warsaw students are members of the Ball State University Concert Band. They are Jerry Harrell and Mike Myers.

Harrell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Harrell, and Myers is the son of Julia Myers. They both play trumpet in the band and all live in Warsaw.

March 10 1957

    Doors and windows rattled, the sound of an explosion rolled up and down the streets and across farm lands for 20 miles through Kosciusko County.

Switchboards at The Times-Union, Radio Station WRSW, police stations and the sheriff's office lit up like Christmas trees as startled residents called to ask, "What blew up?" Nothing blew up. Something blew down. Residents had received their first introduction to the jet-age "Sonic Boom."

    Benjamin W. Carr, aged Civil War veteran, who resides at 319 Cedar St., with his daughter, Avis Lindzy, will on March 12, observe his 91st anniversary. A special program for Carr will be broadcast over station WOWO at Fort Wayne.
