    Wanda Bruner, Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District secretary, recently was named Employee of the Year by the Indiana District Employees Association.

Bruner has been an SWCD employee in Kosciusko County since 1992.

March 10 1984

    An awards presentation highlighted the recent annual banquet of the Kosciusko County Mental Health Association in the Shrine Building.

Volunteers that were presented award certificates were W.T. Austin, Suzanne Baker, Bruma Black, Edith Blessing, John Connolly, Sandra Frush, Marion Porter, Patti Robinson, June Tully, Regina Watkins and Sara Wolfe.

March 10 1959

    Four members of Kosciusko County Rural Youth joined 60 others from over the state in a train trip to Texas recently. Pat Smith, Jeanne Frush and Tom Smith, all of Atwood, and Elsworth Everest, of Leesburg, are spending the week at a Texas dude ranch, enjoying swimming, horseback riding, barbecues, fish frys on the river bank, fishing, cowboy breakfast cooked in the open, moonlight dancing and trips to San Antonio, the Alamo and Mexican Border.

March 10 1934

    Ice fishermen on Winona, Palestine and other county lakes report good catches of bass and crappie the past few days. The ice is from 10 to 12 inches thick, through which lines are dropped.
