    Arthur C. Marose, president of Hall & Marose Agency Inc., announces the addition of Daniel L. Woods as an associate agent working closely with the members of the Hall & Marose Insurance Agency, which includes Kevin and Art Marose, Mike and John Hall and Tony Frazzetta.

Woods has been in the insurance industry in Kosciusko County 15 years.

February 7 1983

    Claiming he wants to be sure voters have a choice in the November election, Democrat Albert A. Fischer has become the first candidate to file for election to a Winona Lake Town board seat.

The May 3 primary will be the first one in Winona Lake, as a new state law requires primaries in towns with more than 3,000 population.

50 Years Ago

February 7 1958

    The one-man art exhibit of local artist, Marguerite White, Winona Lake, was viewed by people, including several from other states. The exhibit in the lounge of Grace College on Wooster Road was one of the attractions at the alumni conference. In addition to the 14 land and seascapes and three still life pictures, White showed the portrait of President Eisenhower, which won her the title of grand national finalist in the American Artist Professional League contest.

    According to James Cretcher, a Warsaw pioneer, 50 years ago today (Feb. 2), the temperature in Warsaw and Kosciusko County was 18 degrees below zero and there were 14 inches of snow on the ground.
