    Barbara Hudson, Rt. 5, Warsaw, has successfully completed the Excellence in Art course with North Light Art School, a national correspondence school for fine arts.

North Light Art School is operated by the publisher of "The Artist's Magazine," the leading magazine for visual artists, and North Light Books, fine instructional books on painting, drawing and graphic design.

    Everett Perry, 65, of 953 Road 15S, has retired after pumping gasoline for 43 years.

Perry's first gasoline station was established April 4, 1930, south of Warsaw. At that time gasoline sold eight gallons for $1.

    The winter season's largest fish catch was recorded Monday afternoon by Gordon Ladig, Lake Wawasee grocery-restaurant operator, who brought to the Times-Union two giant-size northern pike. The "largest" fish measured 36 inches nose to tail and weighed 11 pounds, 12 ounces. He said catches were made on "shiners" in Johnson Bay.

    Despite protests from certain parties at Syracuse, the naming of four new constables, members of the newly formed Horsethief Detective association there, took place late today. The petition asked the naming of Arden Geyer, Crissel Kitson, Charles Bishop and Bert O. Mabie. Opposition was voiced against the naming of Bert "Pistol Pete" Mabie, whose activities in the past year as constable landed many a transgressor in jail.
