    Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Jeffrey V. Keegan, son of Marian V. Longenecker of Warsaw, recently retired from active duty after 26 years of service.

Keegan, a 1965 Warsaw Community High School graduate, most recently served with 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Amarillo, Texas.

    Graduation certificates will be presented to Laura Pippenger and Israel Garza during the Holiness service at The Salvation Army this Sunday.

They have completed a five-year course of study dealing with Salvation Army history and a Bible study in the Corps Cadet Class, now comprised of 12 students.

    Linda Lukens, a senior at Rochester High School, and formerly of the Akron area, recently won the rotary regional speech contest. Lukens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Lukens, Rochester, will compete against other regional winners.

    Ray Miner recently attended a meeting of officers and committeemen of the Indiana State Elks' Association which was held at Antlers' Hotel, Indianapolis. Miner is vice-president of the state organization.
