Setting the school record for the fourth time this season, Warsaw’s 200 freestyle relay team finished sixth in Saturday’s final round of the state finals at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis. The Tiger foursome of Kiel Beehler, Brett Moore, Ryan Munsch and Michael Thallemer were the only individuals to advance to Saturday’s final round, placing sixth with a time of 1:29.19. Their time bettered their own school record by almost a second.

Lakeland Christian Academy won its third Indiana Christian Athletic Association state championship this year, sweeping the field Friday and Saturday in the girls basketball championships. Cheryl Myers led Lakeland with 55 points in the series while Jennifer Ellis had 33 points. Myers was named tourney MVP runnerup. The team was honored with a caravan parade through Winona Lake and Warsaw.

Stephen K. Bumbaugh, son of Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Bumbaugh, Warsaw, is one of nearly 400 cadets who recently enrolled for the second phase of the academic year at Kemper Military School, Boonville, Mo.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Woods and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Frauhiger, of Warsaw, are planning to leave for Florida soon. They will spend two weeks at Bradenton.

The Rev. F.K. Dougherty made a business trip recently to Indianapolis. Mrs. Dougherty accompanied her husband to Marion where she visited with their son, Paul B. Dougherty.
Mrs. A.S. Spriggs and Tommy Henry of Silver Lake visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Spriggs near Warsaw.
