The Eisenhower girls basketball team defeated Jefferson to win the 2001-2002 elementary city championship. The Eagles went through the season with an undefeated record. Members of the team are: Jenny Kleinhans, Susan Bonitah, Tera Clark, Taylor Goshert, Carlyle Snider; Erica Ridderman, Sena Muta, Hayley Hudson, Kate Whitehead, Jordan Kosins, Alexis Howard, Lauren Piper, Alexis Albertson, Joselyn Evans and Kaitlyn Wilson. The coach is Sheila Freds and assistant coach is Scott Freds.

Warsaw kept its middle school wrestling record perfect with a 48-42 win over Grissom Middle School. The Tigers got the win with three straight pins in the final three matches. Winning for Warsaw were Chris Patrick, Dan Hatch, Tim Young, Richie Hernandez, Jason Curtis, Chris Neeley, Andy Young and Rob Wagley. Warsaw is now 5-0 for the season. The Tiger B-Team winners were: Bob Taylor, Kevin Kohlinger, Chris Rager, Vince Weirick and Derek Barker.

Three “revolutionary” products in the field of medical equipment, exclusively produced by Zimmer Manufacturing Co., of North Detroit Street, have been written up in Time Magazine recently. The products are: (1) a stainless steel Rod, for spinal diseases such as scoliosis; (2) a Skin Graft-Spreading Instrument, that is said to enable a 1-1/2-inch square piece of skin to cover some 90 inches of a burn; and (3) Stainless Steel Joint that is to be used in fingers to relieve those who suffer arthritis and other such diseases.

Miss Ruth Herring, who for several days has been confined to her home because of a sprained ankle, recently resumed her position at the Lake City Bank.
