Grace College and Seminary is in the final stage of devising a three-part plan to raise $2.1 million to renovate the Danek building and make a new student recreation center. In December 1999, Grace purchased the 81,000-square-foot Danek building adjacent to campus through a $750,000 gift from Robert and Frances Gordon. The rec center will be named after the couple.

Approximately 35 sixth-grade pupils at Madison Elementary school drew portraits of their principal, Steve Hassinger, and the drawings of Rhonda Redden (second place) and Carrie Anne Seiffert (first place) were judged the two best.
Two recent visitors to Nicaragua, Dean Musser Jr., photo editor of the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, and J-G reporter Blair Claflin, spoke to a group of Warsaw Community High School Spanish students recently about their trip. The program helped the students in their understanding of Central American politics and society.

Warsaw’s Mr. and Mrs. Warren Ulrey and Mr. and Mrs. William F. Hire and son, John Clifford, have been on a vacation trip through Florida. They visited at Clearwater and planned to visit the famous Okefenokee swamp area in Georgia, where the men hoped to do some hunting.

Dr. J.W. Hoyt, North Lake Street, is in Chicago attending the 100th anniversary observance of the birth of D.L. Moody, which is being celebrated this week at the Moody Bible Institute.
Virgil Bibler, of East Jefferson Street, is confined to his home with a severe cold, contracted while assisting in fighting the fire at Gill’s Restaurant Saturday morning.
