Warsaw’s No. 1 ranked girls basketball team rolled to its third straight sectional title Saturday night before a crowd of over 2,300. Dana Creighton scored Warsaw’s first point, a free throw; Triton’s Kim Heisler scored on a jumper to put the Trojans on top, 2-1. The Tigers broke the record for most free throws in a season with 303, from 288. Even though they lost, Triton Coach Bob King was pleased with his team. “I am extremely proud of the way our girls played. They showed pride in themselves and in representing Triton High School,” he said.
Mike Martin, chairman of the board of United Way of Kosciusko County, has announced the appointments of two new board members: Dana Krull, Pierceton, and Kevin Zachary, Warsaw.

Capt. Donald Hickey of the Salvation Army presented the “Bell Ringers Traveling Trophy” for 1963 to the Rotary Club. The Rotary, Kiwanis and Lions Club members man the Salvation Army Kettle on Saturday prior to Christmas. The club that collects the most money to be used for Christmas food baskets receives the trophy.
Howard and Dorothy Marsh, Chicago, will sing at the morning worship service at First Presbyterian Church, Warsaw, Jan. 12. Marsh is a leading recording artist and sang at the Wagon Wheel Playhouse during the 1962 season.

Little Norman Davis, Silver Lake, is now attending school for the deaf in Detroit, Mich. He formerly attended school for the deaf in Indianapolis.
Because he accurately reproduced the puzzle appearing in last Tuesday’s Daily Times in a pen sketch, Robert Blodgett, Mentone, was awarded first prize in last week’s Warsaw Investment Company contest. Martha Cook, Warsaw, mounted the puzzle and her answer on cardboard and framed both under glass in a photograph, winning second prize. Harry Watkins has the job of counting and sorting the entries each week; the 5-and 3-pound boxes of candy to be given as prizes drew more than 200 answers the first week of the contest.
Gravelpit Frank Sanders brought into the Daily Times office the first harbinger of spring in the middle of January, lilac branches with buds ready to burst.
