    Christopher Cavell finished fourth in the recent Youth Scholarship Bowling Circuit, representing Holiday Bowl.

The 10-year-old won a $50 scholarship for his performance in the 180-contestant event.

    Bruce C. Welty, 18, a graduate of Triton High School and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Welty, Etna Green, has been nominated for the Air Force Academy by Sen. Dan Quayle.

Welty was one of 50 nominees selected by Quayle. The most valuable player for the 1981-82 Triton basketball team, Welty was a member of the football and baseball teams, National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America.

    Susan Sturdevant and Apryl Burkhart, both of North Manchester, were among the 336 women pledged to Indiana University sororities last week. Sturdevant was pledged to Gamma Phi Beta and Burkhart to Pi Beta Phi.

February 19 1933

    The Warsaw Ice Co. about 3 this afternoon completed its ice packing for this season. The ice houses of the company on Center Lake are entirely filled for the first time in two years. Ice cut on Center Lake during the last cold wave averages 8 inches thick. Between 25 and 30 men were employed in cutting ice this time, which filled one room. Ice just cut weighed approximately 300 tons.
