Dustin Castle and Joe Anglin's rendition of  "All Along the Watchtower" earned them best-of-show honors recently during the Variety Show sponsored by the Warsaw Community High School Drama Department. Audrey Beeson and Chelsea Albertson won in the band category with their rendition of "All the Heavens;" Karyn Brumbaugh won the solo category by singing "Revive Us Again;" the Jersey Girls won the dance competition; and Charlotte Winston won the miscellaneous category for her sign language interpretation.

Two Kosciusko County families were given the Hoosier Homestead Award in Indianapolis recently. The Donald E. Frush family of Warsaw was given the award from Lt. Governor John Mutz. The Frush farm has been in the  family since 1853. The Robert and Ruth Heighway family of Akron was also given the award from the lieutenant governor. The Heighway farm has been in the family since 1861. To be considered for the award, applying farm property must produce at least $1,000 worth of agricultural products or be a minimum of 20 acres. Proof of a relationship must be established between the present owner and the owner of 100 years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Maish, Warsaw, will leave for a skiing vacation at Aspen, Colo. They are going with friends from Kokomo and plan to be away about eight days.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Knoop, of Warsaw, and Henry Butler, Warsaw, will leave for California to visit both relatives and friends. Mr. Butler also plans to call upon Mr. and Mrs. Gene White, formerly of Warsaw, now residing at Laguna Beach.

Miss Leanore Kelly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Kelly, has returned from St. Joe and Kansas City, Mo., where she has been visiting for three weeks.
Louis Breading, Dick Silveus, Frank E. Sanders and Glenn Smith attended the Golden Gloves semi-finals recently at the General Electric Club in Fort Wayne.
