The 65-year-old County Home, south of Warsaw, will be vacated Jan. 1, 1964, by order of the county commissioners and council. The building was erected in 1898 after a fire destroyed a previous county home built on the site a year earlier. By 1850 the number of unfortunate people to care for became so numerous that the commissioners of the day, Noah Rowdabush, George Weaver and Joseph Metcalf, decided to buy a farm from Abraham and Jane Davis for $900 and place a building on it to be used as a county home. The 31 patients now being cared for will be transferred to various nursing homes.
