Caleb Shaw, 19, son of Jim and Benita Shaw, Nappanee, and a NorthWood High School graduate, is trying to be the next “American Idol.” After working last summer at Busch Gardens in W. Va., Shaw decided to audition again this season in Washington D.C, after not making it past the first round two years ago. “So far,” his parents say, “Caleb is doing well.”
Jordan Foreman, 19, a 2003 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, plays music to “worship Christ,” performing at the Cafe Villagio, Winona Lake. His singing experiences began in the Edgewood Middle School choir.
Warsaw’s wrestlers won the sectional championship with a great team effort, which included 19 Tiger pins, a tech fall and eight decisions, scoring 208.5 points.

 Mike, Kimm and Maurice Lewis operate Lewis Salvage Company, a family-owned business that began 40 years ago, with one facility in Akron for 35 years and a second location near Warsaw opening almost two years ago. Lewis Salvage recently purchased a shear-baler, a 60-ton device that can either shear metal scrap to sell to foundries and steel mills or compress up to 1,200 pounds of materials to be recycled.
Indiana Vocational Technical College’s (Ivy Tech) new director at the Warsaw Center will be Dr. Stephen Grill, Winona Lake. Current director Joe Beeson will stay on for 90 days to assure a smooth transition. Grill is  former assistant academic dean of Grace College. He has been artistic director and marketing manager for Wagon Wheel Theatre the past two years.

A special organ concert will be held at the Boice Theatre, Warsaw, Jan. 18 featuring the first “moving stereo” organ ever built, promising many exciting stereo high-fidelity effects never heard before. Frank Renaut, national radio and television artist, will be at the Lowrey “Festival” organ.
The 1965-66 edition of “Who’s Who in the Midwest” lists persons from Kosciusko County: Cecil Werner Armstrong, John Andrew Chrisman, Theodore Alfred Danielson, Morton Henry Huffer, Alfred S. Hill, Victor H. Hillery, Lewis S. Immel, Dr. Thomas A. Keough, Charles H. Ker, Clyde K. Landrum, James W. Sutherland, Jesse Paul Taylor.

Roscoe L. Warren, disabled Warsaw World War veteran, living at the corner of Fort Wayne and Park avenues in the old Catlin property, wrote the Times from the U.S. Veteran’s Hospital in Indianapolis, where he has been a patient for the past month. “I have been receiving my home town paper regularly. You cannot imagine my most sincere appreciation for your kind thought in sending it to me.”
A group of women representing the churches of Warsaw and Winona Lake met at the library to arrange a program for the world’s day of prayer to be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Warsaw Presbyterian Church.
Tom Gilliam, Warsaw, was named by the Indiana University department of journalism as telegraph editor of the Indiana Daily Student for the second semester starting Jan. 20. He is a nephew of Charles Gilliam.
