Max Capel Motors has named Doug Shidler as its salesman of the year for 1998.

For the second consecutive year, Shidler has earned the award for high customer satisfaction and sales volume.

MUNCIE - Elizabeth Brewer, Syracuse, has been inducted into the Kappa Delt Pi national education society at Ball State University.

Brewer, a senior majoring in elementary education, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Brewer, Syracuse. She is a 1980 graduate of Wawasee High School.

Richard Lee Tombaugh, of Mentone, has been elected historian of the Reamer Club, independent men's honorary, at Purdue University for the current year. Tombaugh, a junior in physical education, is a former Tomahawk and a member of Cary Club.
