    Andrea Zentz will travel to Frankfort Sunday to compete for the 2003 Indiana Junior Miss title. She is contestant No. 18 and the daughter of Duane and Jane Zentz, Bourbon. She will compete in three categories: Thursday night she will do her talent, a comedy routine she wrote titled “The Andrea Show.” Friday night she will compete in youth fitness doing a choreographed routine; also Friday she will compete in poise during the evening gown competition and the interview question. Saturday night the top 10 contestants will compete again in those three categories.

   Representatives of Owen’s Supermarket Inc. and Creighton Brothers were recognized for their efforts in the business community during the annual Greater Warsaw Chamber of Commerce banquet at the Shrine Building. Owens received the General Business Award.  The Industrial Achievement Award went to Creighton Brothers.

    Plans for the annual Shrine circus trip to Fort Wayne are well underway, Joe Carny, president of the Kosciusko County Shrine Club, reported. All third-grade children in the area will be guests of the Shrine Club at the circus Feb. 8. In addition to all the third-grade children in Kosciusko County the caravan will include school buses from Nappanee, Bourbon, Tippecanoe and Wakarusa. More than 1,200 children and adults will be in the Shrine party. After the circus each third-grader is invited to write an essay of 150 words or less on “My Day at the Circus.” Cash prizes are awarded for the three top essays.

    The freshman class of Claypool High School enjoyed a party recently at the school house. Refreshments were served to the following: Marian Kinsey, Dorothy Ford, Phyllis Baker, Betty Lou Boggs, Maxine Miller, Miriam Merkle, Trilba Cauffman, Kathleen Cauffman, Janet Ring, Barbara Wutcher, Audra Beigh, Ruby Warren, Daisy Gray, Jean Cook, Lowell Knoop, Claude Tully, Delbert Price, DeVerle Adams and the sponsor, Mary Reever.
