The following athletes won mental attitude awards for Edgewood Middle School's fall sports season. They were: Alex Tidball, Lucas Dawson, Elizabeth Frantz, Landon Geiger, Rebekah Reichard and Jordan Foreman.
Marianne Miller Levan, a personnel relations management senior at Grace College, has received the Indiana Personnel Association 1984-85 $1,000 scholarship grant. She accepted the award from Clifton G. Scott, IPA president, at the association's recent fall conference in Brown County. She was one of 10 applicants to compete for the award.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Miller and son, Roger, of Etna Green, had dinner in an Atwood cafe recently in celebration of the Millers' 25th wedding anniversary.
The East Side Mothers' Club met recently with Mrs. Bertie Gillespie on South Indiana Street, with 20 members and two guests, Mrs. Yoder and Mrs. Truex, present. During the business hour, a donation for the Red Cross was given, and some tuberculosis seals were purchased. The following interesting program was given: A paper, "Discipline, Strict or Lax," by Mr. Calvert; an article, "Right and Wrong," by Mrs. Grace Baker; a paper, "He Can But He Won't," by Mrs. Yarger.
