    Nine reserve officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department graduated Dec. 12 from the Whitley County Reserve Academy.

They are Thane Tribalski, Terrence Dunn, Mark Riggle, Rick Oliver, Steve Coffman, Vaughan Latham, Robert Krebs, Terry Swoverland and Rob Butler.

    With the temperature moderating, more people are able to get out and do winter-related activities like a sled ride. Vickie Reiter, of 724 N. Cook St., and her almost-3-year-old son, Tommy, were out near Pike Lake recently.

January 28 1959

    Olen Anglin, assistant cashier at the Nappanee State Bank and president of the Nappanee Jaycees during 1958, was selected as Nappanee's "Young Man of the Year." Anglin, 35-year-old father of two children, received the award at a recent meeting. He has been employed at the bank for 10 years.

    Marjorie Ruth Reece was hostess recently at a delightful birthday party, honoring her 16th birthday anniversary. Bunco was the feature of the evening's entertainment with Virginia Heagy winning high score for the girls and Paul Ringer high score for the boys.
