    LEESBURG - The Leesburg Elementary School Spell Bowl Team, consisting of fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders, recently finished first at Goshen.

Team members are Sam Holada, Sarah Pitt, Ashley Czuba, Sarah Flinn, Jaclyn Abrams, Joe Avery, Lindsey Richcreek, Brian Smith, Andrew Lauster, Krita Beezley, John Henry Ronk, Baxter Burnworth, Brittany Rowe and Jeff Srirantanakoul. The team is coaches by Anissa Fox and Judy Kinsey.

    POTPOURRI - From Akron To Germany - Two hundred white oak logs from Pike Lumber Co., Akron, are headed for Hamburg, Germany, where they will be made into furniture and used for architectural purposes. The logs comprise 30,000 feet of board lumber and was harvested in northern Indiana, southern Michigan and western Ohio. Overseeing the shipment were Akron officials Larry Hunter, production manager; Dean Baker, executive vice president; and John Brown, sales manager.

    Roger Hunsberger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hunsberger, Milford, is serving aboard the carrier USS Lake Champlain operating out of Norfolk, Va., as a unit in the nation's anti-submarine warfare team. Roger is s fireman apprentice.

January 27 1934

    Mrs. Chester E. Bolinger of North Lake Street received word that two of her oil paintings have been accepted by the Hoosier Art Salon and will be displayed in the feature room of Marshall Fields at Chicago. Bolinger, who is an amateur artist of Warsaw, paints under the name of Inez Russell Bolinger.
