It may have been a balmy 68 degrees outside, but inside Center Lake Pavilion Wednesday there were snowflakes hanging from the ceiling and Christmas wreaths lining the room. The first-ever Wreath of Hope Holiday Tea drew more than 110 women to Center Lake Pavilion and raised at least $12,000 for the Cardinal Center, according to event organizers Cathy Teghtmeyer and Rebecca Kubacki.

This recipe was submitted to the Spotlight recipe Contest for Pretty Postachio Torte.
Cake: 2 pkgs. Pistachio Instant Pudding; 1 box white cake mix; 1/2 cup oil; 1/2 cup water; 1/2 cup milk; 5 eggs. Filling: 1/2 pint whipping cream; 1 medium size container Cool Whip; 1 pkg. Pistachio Instant Pudding.
Cake: Add 2 boxes pudding to dry cake mix. Add water, oil, milk and blend 1 minute. Add eggs one at a time beating after each. Bake in 2 well greased and flour 8” or 9” round baking pans according to directions on cake box. Cool cake. Split layers of cake to make four layers. Filling: Whip whipping cream. Add Cool Whip and blend together. Add dry pudding. Mix till well blended and thick. Divide filling in fourths. Frost each layer and top. Very pretty and festive especially for Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day. Jan Berry, Warsaw

Mrs. S.W. Evans, Warsaw, was in Ames, Iowa, recently to witness the initiation of her daughter, Mary Katherine, into her own chapter of Sigma Kappa sorority at Iowa State University. Miss Evans, a junior majoring in psychology, sings with the Iowa State Singers, Festival Chorus and the Sigma Capper’s trio.

Judson Lytle and Rowan Howe, students at Manchester College, visited over the weekend in Winona Lake with their parents. Maury Crause, also of North Manchester, attended the dance at the Eagles Hall Saturday night.
