    MUNCIE - Several students recently were inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education at Ball State University.

Area students honored: Jodi Goon, the daughter of Karlton and Julia Goon of Warsaw; and Ashlee Arnett, the daughter of Bob and Tori Arnett of Winona Lake.

    Warsaw Mayor Jeffrey W. Plank announced that City Police Cpl. Larry K. Engle and City Patrolman Robert W. Long have been appointed the new city civil defense director and assistant CD director, respectively.

Engle is a seven-year veteran of the Warsaw Police Department, and Long has been a member of the department for three years.

    Walnut Peak Queen, a Holstein cow owned by Edith and Robert D. Ummel, Claypool, has received the top award for lifetime butterfat production in the state.

Walnut Peak Queen's lifetime production now is 189,617 pounds of milk; 7,209.7 pounds of butterfat, with a test of 3.84 percent in 13 lactations, being in milk 4,229 days.

    C. Wesley Light was awarded the toy automobile given away by Herbert Kehler's Modern Cobbleries store. Light happened to have the key which fit the lock.
