    Jefferson Elementary was the American League Soccer champions this year with a perfect 5-0 score. Team members are Nick Walters, Ryan Barger, Brandon Fruit, Bryan Brumbaugh, Nathan George, Adam Huskey, Josh Swihart, Stevan Bradican, Naussaire Guengoua, David Huskey, Joel Henline, Jeremy Porter, Jordan Henline, Jon Clevenger, Andrew Sawyer, Adam Suchecki, Chris Workman, Nathan Abbitt, B.J. Woodward, Jake Rogers, John-Wesley Maierle, Adam Wishart and Evan Pickens. Coach is Mark Workman and assistant coach is Eric Demorest.

    Two hours of sleep normally isn't enough for a high school junior to make it through the day, but adrenaline alone probably was enough today for 16-year-old Julie James, Warsaw.

James became the first-ever Miss Indiana Teen USA winner, defeating 49 other contestants from throughout the state, at the Hellenic Center, Merrillville. A student at Bethany Christian High School, Goshen, she is the daughter of Harold E. and Gini James.

    Sally Rosbrugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hosea Rosbrugh, Warsaw, has been appointed director of women at North Hall, a residence for more than 100 freshman girls attending Ball State Teachers College. Sally is studying for her master's degree.

    Three of Warsaw's beautiful girls, who last week took part in a beauty pageant and fashion review at the Strand Theater, have been named as screen possibilities. They are: Katherine Olds, Molly Allen and Christine Widaman. Out of the 18 young ladies who appeared in review, these three screened most successfully and, who knows, maybe one or all three will some day be among the uppermost of filmland celebrities.
