According to information announced recently on the Internet, Warsaw author Ken Anderson’s book “Where to Find it in the Bible” has exceeded sales of 600,000 copies. Thomas Nelson Publishers, Nashville, which released the book in 1996, reports annual acceleration of sales volume and predicts hitting the 1 million copies mark by 2005. Anderson, 84, continues writing full time. His wife, Doris, assists him and his daughter, Margaret Mauzy, acts as the typist.

Warsaw Community High School student Theresa Cler has placed first in the morning Optimist Club essay contest. Her winning entry will now be submitted to the Optimist district competition to be judged against other contest winners from throughout Indiana. Taking second place in the contest was Darrell Farrington of WCHS, with third place being awarded to Heather Busz, also of WCHS. Theresa received her award from morning Optimist Club president Bret Wolf.

Nearly 100 Grace College students took a vacation from final exam and registration worries at “Sadie’s Roundup” in the gym. The Roundup, a girl-invites-boy affair, was a western version of the annual Sadie Hawkins day celebration and was sponsored by the Women’s Recreational Association. Cowboy dress and decorations were the rage. Three freshmen, Miriam Ashman, Linda Moore and Carol Toirac, presented special music and a film “How Dear To My Heart” was shown.

Glenn Smith, Raymond Tyner, Clarence Heitman and Earl Longfellow attended a boxing show at Huntington recently. Murice “Red” Bennett, Warsaw boxer, appeared on the program.

Mr. and Mrs. Logan H. Williams left for Miami, Fla., via Pennsylvania railroad through Pittsburgh and Washington.

The Misses Irene Brown and Helen Murphy of near Silver Lake attended the basketball tournament Thursday evening in Warsaw.
