    His home has been a landmark since 1957. And on May 20 the Billy Sunday Visitors Center will open its doors as the latest addition to the restoration of Winona Lake.

The Visitors Center is being built to be reminiscent of the old tabernacle style of construction. In it, visitors will find a tribute to Sunday's life as a professional baseball player and a leading evangelist in the Prohibition movement.

    The Leesburg/Oswego Nursery School recently held its annual Thanksgiving Feast. Parents and grandparents were invited for the day's activities, which included a meal bought and prepared by the children. The children also conducted a program in which the Indians made friends with the Pilgrims arriving in Plymouth.

December 5 1959

    Sam Joyner, 205-pound senior center from Warsaw, was one of 10 Purdue University football players named to the honorable mention list of United Press International's All-American team.

Joyner, a former Warsaw high school star, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Joyner, of Country Club Drive. Sam played full back in high school. He is 24 years old and stands 5-11.

December 5 1934

    Forty-five neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Estep and family gathered at their home west of Leesburg for a farewell visit. The Esteps are moving soon to their new home near Pierceton. A potluck supper was enjoyed. All left wishing the Esteps happiness and success in their home.
