North Pointe Cinema will reopen Nov. 19 with three new stadium-style theatres for a total of nine. General manager Yvonne Keirn says they are bigger and have a larger screen. The concession stand has been expanded and the box office renovated. Movies out this weekend include “The Polar Express” and “National Treasure.” The original theatre turns 8-years-old Dec. 13.
Wawasee High School football coach Joe Reitveld and receiver Ben Champoux whooped it up with the team and fans after Friday night’s 49-19 semistate win over Logansport. That means the Warriors will play for 4A state championship honors in the RCA Dome, its first state finals appearance since 1985.
Mike Nutter, Warsaw, was named the midwest league executive of the year for his work as general manager of the Fort Wayne Wizards baseball team.

The 1989 Kosciusko Community Theatre’s Festival of Trees will be at White Hill Manor Dec. 2 and 3. Known as “Christmas at White Hill,” the event features an array of trees and wreaths and entertainment by The Showstoppers.
Pen and ink sketches of area scenes by members of the Lakeland Art Association are included in the group’s 1990 calendars on sale at the Bowen Center for $4.
Top classroom sellers for the Atwood Elementary School’s fundraiser: Heather Brenner, kindergarten; Kristin Zolman and Bud Hites, first grade; Nicholas Furney, second; Janina Harman, third; Blaine Goon, fourth; Matt Himes, fifth; Matt Kreft. Students sold gift wrap and boxed candy to help operate the PTO budget and update the library’s reading material.

Dan Ganger assumed the duties of Syracuse marshal Nov. 1, replacing Donald Enyeart, who resigned.
North Webster High School’s Bill Vonasch snared 28 rebounds during the hotly contested Webster-Larwill basketball outing at the North Webster gym. Larwill veteran Tex Plummer guarded Vonasch. North Webster won the game 68-57.
Edward Neville, preliminary foreman at R.R. Donnelley and Sons Co., celebrated his 25th anniversary with the firm Nov. 9. He began his career in 1939 as a mailboy in the Chicago plant, advancing to timekeeper, estimator and photographer before coming to Warsaw. He and his wife Marjorie have two sons and a daughter: Douglas, 12; Richard, 10; and Lori, 6.

Murphy Hospital announced the installation of a new baby incubator. Dr. S.C. Murphy and nurse Hazel Melick escorted two Times reporters through the hospital and explained the operation of the machine. The Hess incubator, about the size of a bath tub, with oxygen therapy attachment, is double-walled and kept at the proper temperature by use of thermatically-heated water between the double walls. The infant is placed in a wire basket which is suspended away from the walls. An oxygen mixture is fed through the top of the machine. Six of these machines are on exhibit at the New York World’s Fair.
Kosciusko County is third among the 92 counties of Indiana in the number of farms with 3,370. Allen County has 4,148; Madison, 3,427.
