W. E. (Eddie) Creighton of Creighton Brothers has been selected to receive the 1999 Sam Walton Business Leader award, sponsored by the Wal-Mart Foundation and the Wal-Mart store in Warsaw. Creighton was chosen as the award recipient by the Warsaw/Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce, which received a $500 grant in the honoree's name.
Outdated county laws - dating back to the days that pioneers were clearing their farmland and building log cabins - were deleted from the record books recently when the Kosciusko County Commissioners repealed and then readopted codified ordinances in a regular meeting in the courthouse.
Jack Warner, son of Mr. and Mrs. L.V. Warner, Eel River, has resumed his studies at Purdue University after attending a conference in Bridgewater, Va. The sessions were sponsored by the Church of the Brethren student Christian Movement.
A petition signed by more than 40 business and professional men of Warsaw has been given to the county supervisor asking for an adult class in the first principles of law and also on constitutional rights be formed.
