Claypool Classics 4-H Club met Jan. 4 in the Claypool Lions Building. Officers were elected: Jackie Amiss, president; Cassi Baker, vice-president; Chelsae Culp, secretary; Kelsey Heckaman, treasurer; Danielle Heckaman, devotions and health and safety; Gavin Heckaman, fun-raisers and newsletters. Sarah Johnson gave a demonstration on making bookmarks; Jacob Johnson, wind chimes with pop cans.
Beaver Dam Better 4-Hers met Jan. 5 at the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church. The meeting was called to order by president Heather Cumberland. Demonstrations were given by Chris Koldyke, Tyler Boganwright, Ashley Koldyke, Tyler Huffman and Matthew Koldyke.

Roger G. Stevens Sr., Pierceton, retired from Northern Indiana Public Service Company after 41 years of service. He joined NIPSCO in 1947 as a meterman helper in Warsaw and advanced to various positions. At the time of his retirement he was a serviceman in the Warsaw district.  He and his wife, Betty, have three sons.

County Basketball Tourney at Warsaw Jan. 7, 8, 9, 11, 1964: Tuesday night-Pierceton vs. North Webster; Syracuse vs. Silver Lake; Milford vs. Akron. Wednesday night-Larwill vs. Claypool; Sidney vs. Mentone. Thursday night-Leesburg vs. winner Game 1; winners of Games 2 and 3. Saturday afternoon- winners of Games 6 and 7); winners of Games 4 and 5; Saturday night at 8:15, Championship. Pep bands are allowed but no confetti, streamers, bells, balloons or whistles will be permitted inside the gym. Gaylord Toll, principal of Mentone, will be the tourney manager; Wendell Bryant, North Webster’s principal is his assistant. Warsaw High School will provide ushering and concessions, and for the first time this year, a first aid room in the health room.

Commissioner W. A. McIntyre, D.D. of Chicago, Territorial Commander for the Salvation Army in 11 mid-western states, spoke at the Presbyterian Church Sunday in connection with the dedication of the opening of Warsaw’s new Salvation Army Citadel, corner of Detroit and Main Streets.
Harry Morgan, long-time employee of the Standard Oil Company, operating with Ray Kincaide the service station at the corner of Center and High Streets, has leased the Edgington filling station and bulk plant on North Detroit Street from Harry Edgington who is retiring. The station and plant will maintain the Edgington name.
      Ed Funk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Funk, Warsaw, will take a new position with the First National Bank of Wabash.
