 Coloring contest winners, city employee Christmas party Dec. 13: daughters of Warsaw fireman Jeff Rostochak (Kabrea, age 4-6 category; Kylee, age 7-9; Mattia, age 10-12) and Connie Volkert, employee category.
Diane Thomson was sworn in as second lieutenant in the Indiana Guard Reserve by Lt. Jack Stump, executive officer, First Brigade.
The genealogy section of the Kosciusko Historical Society met in November for its annual banquet and election of officers for 2005: Sally Nichols, chairperson; Shirley Thompson, vice chairperson; Carol Boyer, secretary; and Marge Priser, treasurer. Genealogist of the Year 2004 Award was presented to Marge Warren, the section’s chairperson in 2003 and 2004.

Kosciusko County school children chosen as winners in a loliday coloring contest sponsored by Lucas Realtors/Better Homes and Gardens: Rachel Smith, K.C. Cox, Julie Kennedy, Kristin Schiener, Jacen Hendericks, Derek See, Renae Borkholder and Jackie Whitesell. Their pictures were judged as the best in their age categories from 113 entries.
Heather Pigman, 1, was named the overall winner in the Teenie Tiny New Star Discovery Baby Beauty Pageant Dec. 10 at Holiday Inn, Warsaw, after winning first place in 11 of 12 categories. She won 10 trophies, a crown, fur jacket and the entry fee to the state pageant. Heather is the daughter of Russell and Melissa Pigman of Pierceton.
Dick Anderson, pastor of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Warsaw, and nine volunteers staffed the chaplain program at Kosciusko Community Hospital.

 Warsaw Girl Scout Troop 20 completed the Junior Red Cross first aid course: Marcia Pownall, Judy Crowel, Dee Wadsworth, Virginia Werner, Jo Ann Rasor, Jane Glover, Debbie Shriver, Andrea Potter, Sue Carlson, Kathy Mote, Karla Long and Linda Good. Mrs. George Kaufmann was the instructor.
Owen’s Supermarket on West Market Street will have an additional 4,000 square feet by Jan. 1. The new structure increases the size to 16,500 square feet of floor space overall, adding another check-out lane, bringing the total to seven. Owen Emerick, proprietor, plans to add a complete frozen pastry department.
Martha Hiers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hiers, Akron, is the DAR Good Citizen for Akron High School. Paul Schipper and Diane Lowman were crowned homecoming king and queen at a recent basketball game.

The Orange and Black Aces, Warsaw High School orchestra under the direction of Frank Meredith, will furnish music for the Tuesday Dramatic Club’s three-act comedy farce “Bolts and Nuts”  presented at the Centennial Theatre Nov. 14: Argil Brallier, Jerry Lessig, Roger Kelly, Bruce Howard, Forrest Schrader, Cameron Robinson, Edward Treesh and Stanley Smith. Mrs. Ford Hardman is director; Mrs. Ralph Fifer, assistant director; Mrs. Elmer Funk, general manager; Mrs. William I. Collison, publicity chairman.
