10 Years AgoWhen the University of Michigan (8-3) and Auburn (9-3) face off in the Citrus Bowl New Year's Day, a Warsaw native will watch from the sidelines in Orlando, Fla. Ross Kesler, a 2000 WCHS graduate, redshirted at Michigan this season and will be on the sidelines with the Wolverines when they kick off. The game will be broadcast on ABC. Kesler left for the game Dec. 21 and will fly back to Ann Arbor Jan. 2.25 Years AgoSteve Secrist has been named Mentone Fireman of the Year. He was honored at the fire department's recent banquet by Fire Chief Joe Good. Secrist recently completed his 10th year on the department.50 Years AgoRev. and Mrs. Virgil Brock, of Winona Lake, made a "friendship tree" out of approximately 700 Christmas cards they received. Taped to a wall in their paneled living room, the tree has given pleasure to holiday visitors, many of whom came back with cameras to photograph the exhibit.Did you know that 9-year-old Bob Burtsfield of Silver Lake was one of only 42 winners in the National Christmas Coloring Contest?
