10 Years AgoWith four children living across the country and a home on Chapman Lake, Harvey Miller will keep himself busy following his retirement. Miller will retire after 42 years of service at WRSW. His wife, Juanita, retired Aug. 31 after 28 years from the beauty salon they own.Miller said she now does the bookwork. Part of his free time will still be devoted to WRSW. He said the plan is to "Keep me on as adviser/special projects person part-time."25 Years AgoThis was recipe from the 1985 Spotlight Recipe Contest for Chicken Souffle.8 or 9 slices bread; 4 cups cooked chicken, diced; 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced; 1/4 cup butter; 1-8 oz. can water chestnuts, drained, sliced; 1/2 cup salad dressing; 1/2 cup dry buttered bread crumbs; 8 or 9 slices sharp processed cheese; 4 eggs, well beaten; 2 cups milk; 1/2 tsp. salt; 1 can cream of mushroom soup; 1 can celery soup; 2 oz. pimentos, diced. Trim off bread crust, place in greased 9x13 pan. Top bread with chicken and chestnuts. Saute' mushrooms in butter and add. Spoon on salad dressing. Top with cheese. Combine egg, milk, salt and pour over the top. Combine pimento and soups. Spoon over all. Cover with foil. Refrigerate overnight. Bring to room temperature, then bake about one hour and 15 minutes at 325 degrees. Last 15 minutes remove foil, sprinkle on crumbs. Mabel Ibach, Winona Lake50 Years AgoThis Christmas season is a very happy one for Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Holle who live southeast of Sidney. The reason: a surprise visit from their little granddaughter, Shelley Stump, who will be 2 years old in January. They had never seen her. Shelley, daughter of the Floyd Stumps, of Tucson, came to Indiana with her uncle and aunt, the Wayne Holles, to visit until next weekend.75 Years AgoA surprise party was held at the Richard Robinson home at Winona Lake on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Mr. Robinson. At 6 o'clock dinner was served to: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Babcock and son, Dale, Miss Virginia Coleman and Miss Florence Pfeiffer, all of Warsaw, and Mr. and Mrs. A. Breaks of Winona Lake.
