Kosciusko County Auditor Jean Northenor had quite an eventful day on Tuesday (Dec. 21). It was her 50th birthday, and her friends didn't let her forget. She received a big bouquet of flowers from her office staff, plus was serenaded twice by Miner, and received two other vases with flowers from friends. In addition, local businessmen Charles Bertsch and Matt Dalton treated the auditor to a meal at the local Holiday Inn.
Both Warsaw Bible quiz teams, representing the junior and senior high school Hi-C clubs, scored victories in the county rally at the fairgrounds.
Barney Dreyfuss, owner of the Pittsburg Pirates baseball team, ate here last night at the Foote cafe while enroute from Pittsburg to a Chicago meeting of baseball magnates. He predicted the Pirates would win the league and world series title next year. He did considerable fanning with Host Foote, who is a Pittsburg fan.
