At 7 o'clock in the morning, from a Christmas tree in the home, with Ruby Idle acting as Santa Claus, each person received a gift and some candy and oranges. A large number of gifts were received from friends residing outside the home. The Christmas of 1935 was one of the brightest held at the county home in recent years.
