Kosciusko County’s possibly most ancient structure, the old Palestine mill (Lone Eagle Flour and Feeds), which has aroused admiration of artists and photographers, situated on a beautiful waterfalls at the dammed-up outlet of Palestine Lake six miles southwest of Warsaw, leveled Nov. 9, by flames, was only a pile of charred ruins Friday morning. Fire of unknown origin, likely from electric wiring, had made such a headway when discovered at 9 o’clock that nothing could be saved. Flames were visible as far as Pierceton. Resolute miller Ed Shirey, whose loss is $20,000, promptly said he will rebuild.
