The Warsaw Tigers downed Elkhart Memorial 55-48 in Saturday’s championship game. The Tigers hosted Lake City Bank/Northern Lakes Conference Holiday Tournament. Warsaw has won both NLC boys holiday tournament titles. The win, which gave Rhodes his 49th tournament championship and 393rd victory overall, improved the Tigers to 9-1 on the season.

Lloyd Perkins, assistant to the publisher of The Times-Union, was recently honored for his tenure of service - a career spanning more than 50 years with the newspaper. He was presented with a gold watch and a check for $1,000 by Norm Hagg, Times-Union general manager. His wife of more than 49 years, Maxine, was given a bouquet of red roses.

Mr. and Mrs. Blaine MIkesell of Winona Lake, their daughters, Marilyn and Marcia, and Miss Renate Schaefer, the German exchange student who lives with them, are en route to Oviedo, Fla., to spend the holidays with Mrs. Mikesell’s parents.

Mrs. Ruby Lucie, Winona Lake, and Mrs. Valerie Oppenheim, Tippecanoe Lake, have gone to St. Louis, Mo., for Christmas. Mrs. Lucier will be visiting her son, Phil, and family. Mrs. Oppenheim is the guest of her daughter and family.

Miss Mary Ruth Filer, who is in nurses training in Indianapolis, will spend the Christmas vacation in Warsaw with her mother and brother. She will be accompanied home by her aunt, Mrs. George Haines, of Indianapolis.

Dr. and Mrs. John Hamilton who have spent the past two weeks at their home on McDonald Island in Winona Lake, on Christmas day are going to Louisville, Ky., where they will conduct evangelistic meetings until Jan. 3.
