Warsaw’s Ivy Tech campus has been put on the state administration’s nice list and college officials hope the legislature gives them a gift for being so good – a $2.9 million appropriation. The Warsaw campus has been put on Ivy Tech’s “top 10” list, according to Paul Nowak, executive director of development for the college. “Warsaw is No. 3 on the reconstruction and rehabilitation list,” he said. “You’re asking for a relatively small amount – many projects call for up to $30 million.”

Christmas Time – Christmas is a time to give more than you receive. A time to put up a tree and put such nice things on your tree like candy canes, Christmas bulbs and tinsel.  Christmas is a time to put gifts under the tree. And a time to put the nativity set with baby Jesus in the stable. Christmas is a time to put your stocking up for Santa to leave gifts and a time to wrap gifts.    Christmas - Christmas is the 25th of December and it’s Jesus’ birthday. I love him very much. I hope I get some presents. Not a lot, just some. Written by Lura Schildroth, Grade 3, Washington Elementary School

The 150-strong all-girl Warsaw High School cheering block had plenty to yell about Friday night as the Tigers clipped Rochester 73 to 61 in central Indiana Conference basketball action at the Warsaw High School gym. The girls impressed all the fans with their black-and-white outfits and orange gloves. The varsity yell leaders are Sonja Johnson, Kerry Anglin, Diane McCleary, Pat Sellers, Sue Thomas and Candy Thomas. They also help spark the Tiny Tigers (reserve team). The “B” team cheerleaders are Sharon Mauzy, Karen Myers and Cindy Konkle.
