Da-Lite Screen Co. of Warsaw presented a check for $100,000 to Grace College, Winona Lake, recently. The gift was given to the college in appreciation for their assistance to Da-Lite this fall. Al Hauck, vice president and national sales manager for Da-Lite, presented the check to Grace and said the gift “shows our appreciation for the use of the building during a time of need for our company. It is a testimony to the community for Grace.”

This holiday recipe was published in the Spotlight for Spicy Cranberry Punch.

2 cups boiling water; 5 tea bags; 1/4 tsp. cinnamon; 1/4 tsp. nutmeg; 3/4 cup granulated sugar; 2-1/2 cups water; 1 quart cranberry juice cocktail; 1/2 cup orange juice; 2/3 cup lemon juice; orange slices; 2 whole cloves.

Pour 2 cups boiling water over tea and spices. Cover; steep 5 minutes. Remove tea bags; stir in sugar; cool. Add 2-1/2 cups water and juices. Garnish with orange slices studded with cloves. Serve warm or cold. This kitchen-tested recipe makes 2-1/2 quarts.

Mike Valentine and Sharon Sauer wore happy smiles after just having been crowned “Mr. and Miss Courtesy” of Warsaw High School. Mike is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell (Rusty) Valentine, Warsaw. Sharon is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sauer, Warsaw. Both are 17. Mike is a junior and Sharon a senior. The crowning took place during a Christmas party at the school, climaxing “Courtesy Week.”

According to Postmaster Charles W. Anglin, clerks in the Warsaw post office report that 1936 is the busiest Christmas season in the history of the local post office. Monday, between 8 o’clock in the morning and 8 o’clock in the evening, more than 25,000 Christmas cards were cancelled at the Warsaw post office, Anglin said. The cancelling machine showed more than 24,000 cards cancelled and in addition several thousand were hand-stamped.
