10 Years AgoLetter to The Editor:Saw Santa - One Christmas Eve my whole family came over. We all went to get a tree. Then we all went to the kitchen and said our prayers and ate. Then we went to bed and said our prayers. Then I heard Santa's bells ringing. Then I looked down and in my chimney I saw Santa. I said, "Are you real?" and he said, "Why, yes." I took a drink then I went back upstairs. I watched Santa and his reindeer leave. His former general-interest column, "Kosciusko Komments," on county budgets was recognized.50 Years AgoMembers of the Hi-Teen Youth group of the First Christian Church, corner of Lake and Main streets, bring this city one of the most beautiful and unusual Nativity scenes as the birth of the Christ child is portrayed in a live manger scene. Sheep are seen grazing in front of the scene. The strains of Christmas carols can be heard in the background as the shepherds stroll among the sheep and Mary lulls the Baby Jesus to sleep. Those in the scene are: Donovan Burnau, of Larwill, "Joseph"; Roberta Farlow, "Mary;"; Richard Moore and Roger Coldren, all of Warsaw, shepherds.75 Years AgoArrangements are being made by the Warsaw lodge of Elks to entertain 800 children at the annual Christmas party to be given Christmas Day morning at the Centennial Theater. This party is not given for the children of Warsaw only, but for the children of the entire county and it is expected that large delegations from surrounding towns will be in attendance providing the weather is favorable. During the entertainment Santa Claus will enter and greet the children as they pass from the theater. Each child attending will be presented with a sack of candy and orange.
