The Kosciusko County Historical Society’s “Gingerbread Extravaganza” is on display through Dec. 19 at the Old Jail Museum, 121 N. Indiana St. The judges awarded the following in the non-professional division: Anita Hernandes, first; Irene Lehman, second; Carolyn Fawley, third. In the junior division: Bethany Ransbottom, first; Gabriella Hernandes, second; Emily and Nicole Kuhn, third. In the children’s division: Rodrigo Hernandes, first; Clayton Spangle, second; Saul and Daniel Pedroza, third. There are 13 houses to be seen during the exhibit.

In an agreement between Zimmer, Inc., Marsh, and Warsaw Schools, the dilapidated Freshman High building will be leveled starting Monday, Dec. 12. Zimmer estimates the cost to remove underground tanks, asbestos, and demolish the building to be about $141,500.
Significant rainfall has led to flooding in the Surveyor’s office in the basement of the Courthouse. Some records are collecting mildew. Richard Kemper says water has been coming up from the floor, sections of walls are crumbling and doors will not shut properly.

Kosciusko County Republican Vice Chairman Pauline Jordan and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Jordan, will leave for Florida in December. Polly will return to Warsaw after the first of the year. Honorable Jesse E. Eschbach, Warsaw, is this county’s only federal judge appointee in a history dating back for more than a century. He was named to his judgeship (Fort Wayne District) March 8, 1962 by President John F. Kennedy.
Wa-Nee School Board members will consider applications for the Wakarusa School principal’s post at their meeting Nov. 25. The position became open when Principal Nelson Eaton resigned to take another position. The Weldy School building and land was sold to John Miller, Route 3, Nappanee, who out-bid Gibson Scott, Nappanee.

About 50 girls will take part in the Stephenson style revue next Thursday night during the Fair – 33 from Warsaw, one senior girl from each of the 13 high school graduating classes in the county, and several others.
A new Ediphone (dictaphone) machine is installed in Elmer Funk’s office at the Lake City Bank. Mr. Funk dictates to the machine and Helen Griffith places the head phones on and pecks away at her typewriter.
      Classified Ads: Minimum insertion, two days for 50 cents. Ads scheduled for three days or more, under 25 words cost 25 cents per insertion. Ads containing more than 25 words charged at 1 cent per word per insertion.
