Several area students were recently named to the 2002 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” Named were: Chris Good, son of David and Lois Good, North Manchester; Jimmy Linn, son of Billy and Georgette Linn, Claypool; Kimberly Nifong, daughter of Steven and Jody Nifong, Etna Green; Annie Shilling, daughter of Carolyn Combs, Silver Lake; and Nate Shull, son of Janet Shull, North Manchester, and James Shull, Silver Lake.

More than 300 young people and adults attended the International Puppet Theater Christmas Party at Warsaw Community High School auditorium last Friday. The night of entertainment included a Christmas story by Mrs. Claus, magic tricks by Rick Glass (known as the Rag man), who also serves as president of the local International Puppet Theater. The evening was highlighted when $3,247 worth of gifts were distributed among all of the children.

Miss Sue Baker, daughter of the Max Bakers, Warsaw, and Miss Becky DePoy, daughter of the Kenneth DePoys, Warsaw, are home from Ball State Teachers College, Muncie, for the holidays. Both girls are freshmen in elementary education.

Mr. and Mrs. John Evans of Ithaca, N.Y., will arrive Wednesday to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley W. Evans, Warsaw, over Christmas. Miss Mary Kathryn Evans, who attends Iowa State College, Ames, Iowa, is also expected to arrive on the same day.

75 Years Ago

Rev. and Mrs. H.F. Johnston, of Winona Lake, who recently left on an extended trip, will spend Christmas Day in Naples, Italy. They expect to reach Bombay, India, on Jan. 14, 1937.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cook, Mrs. Nellie Hite and granddaughter, Phyllis Ann Grindle, will motor to Chicago where they will spend the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. William Ward and children.
