It seems one Warsaw police officer wanted to see if his squad car could float recently at the Holiday Lanes “lake” on East Market Street. Patrolman Chuck “Scooby” Hodges claims a vehicle went through the flooded roadway before him, but he was only able to make it about half way before the car sank and the water came in around the doors. We  also hear that Hodges had just returned from an underwater diving course before this incident.

Shinny with a battered old tin can and a new generation of youthful skaters is just as much fun now as it was when you or your father played the same game on skates at Center Lake 25 or even 50 years ago. A group of “ice hockey players” congregated on ice where Buffalo Street terminates at the lake.  They were: Junior Rizer, Fred Shaffer, Bob Hunter, Joseph Anglin, Bob Murtaugh, Max Crall, Ed Treesh, Harold Strauss, Dale Espich and Don Livengood.
