10 Years AgoStudents at Madison Elementary, Warsaw, recently competed in a Diversity Poster Contest, making posters on "What Does Diversity Mean", which was sponsored by their partner in education, R.R. Donnelley & Sons. Winners received pizzas and activity packs. All 38 students who participated in the contest received bookmarks and pencils. The posters are being displayed in the lunchroom at Donnelley's.25 Years AgoSharon L. Williams, Warsaw, is a first-year student at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, according to John E. White, director of admissions at the seminary. She is a 1984 graduate of Butler County Community College in Butler, Pa., and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Warsaw. She is the daughter of Carl and Marilyn Williams.50 Years AgoWarsaw has become one of only 37 Indiana communities to have a nationally accredited hospital. Dr. Kenneth Babcock, director of the Joint Commission for Accreditation, has notified Mrs. Hazel J. Murphy, president of Murphy Medical Center, and Dr. P.H. Pierson, of Silver Lake, chief of staff, of the favorable action of the board of commissioners. Other nearby communities having accredited hospitals are Fort Wayne, Elkhart and South Bend. 75 Years AgoA large group of friends and and neighbors gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Nine at Burket. The occasion was in honor of Mrs. Nine's 28th birthday anniversary. The gifts were presented to Mrs. Nine on her return home from Sunday School. A bounteous dinner was served to 40 guests.
