Twins Marilyn Saner and Carolyn Petrosky kept score during the Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball game Tuesday night, Dec. 6, against Plymouth. The sisters have been avid basketball fans for more than 50 years.

    The musical Christmas tree and lighting display at the west end of the house at 902 Wooster Road, Winona Lake, has something new this year; at the entrance to the drive are lighted silhouettes of the city of Bethlehem and a manger scene. Richard and Kathy Barnhart build the display each year, using strings of single-colored lights, computer programs, and a single-watt FM radio station (89.9) you can tune to. Kathy distributes cookies to visitors. Richard teaches computer information systems at Grace College.

25 Years

The administration of Grace College has announced that three Warsaw students have been accepted for admission for the academic year beginning in the fall of 1991: Kerry Byers, daughter of Don and Cynthia Byers; Rick Dilling, son of Richard and Linda Dilling; and Tim Taylor, son of Ken and Joanne.

    Lara Anders, daughter of Richard and Jerilyn Anders, Bourbon, is a member of the 84-voice DePauw University Festival Choir. She is a 1989 graduate of Triton High School.

    Warsaw Community High School graduate Michael Darr earned a spot on the Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Soccer Conference All-Star Team, joining five other teammates from Geneva College. The Golden Tornadoes ended their season with a 12-8 record and went 2-1 in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) tourney.

    Edward Funk, County Veterans Affairs Officer, has been appointed chairman of The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle program, with Lester Davis, Freshman High School Principal, Mrs. Howard Scott and Mrs. Dora Summey, of Pierceton, as members of his committee. Captain Donald Hickey says The Salvation Army booth and kettle have been set up in front of the W.R. Thomas store, 115 South Buffalo Street.

75 Years

The senior class of Burket High School presents a three-act mystery drama entitled "The High School Mystery" Friday night, Nov. 22, in the gymnasium. Cast includes Margel Riley, Jean Newcomb, Ileen Sarber, Delta Swick, June Montel, Marian Kinsey, Carl Eherenman, Harold Correl, Thomas Higgins, Donald Warren, Lamoine and Karl Parker.

    Three Kosciusko County volunteers boarded a bus Friday morning, Nov. 22, for Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis. Charles Edwin Jefferson, of Pierceton, Levi J. Rink, of Syracuse, and Herschel Lowell Schooley, of near Warsaw, filled the county's quota under selective service. The final contingent arrives Monday to complete the state's quota of 395 men.
