10 Years AgoThe latest thing in medical training technology is SimMan, a mannequin simulator that is as close to a real human being as a mannequin can get. Dr. Linda Law, M.D., medical director of the Emergency Department at Kosciusko Community Hospital, held a demonstration of the mannequin with Medical Plastics laboratory account executive Gary Althaus at KCH. According to Dr. Law, KCH is applying for grants to purchase one. One mannequin costs $28,000. There are only 10 mannequins in use in the United States, Canada and Mexico. 25 Years AgoNinety-one Optimists appeared for the week's meeting. Paul Butler presented the film "The Time Of Your Life" which is based on the book "How To Get Control Of Your Time And Your Life" by Allen Laken. Some suggestions brought up in the film included listing your goals and setting priorities; making a daily list of chores to do; upgrade the list frequently; determine the best use of time; and don't procrastinate. The film pointed out that everyone gets the same amount of hours in each week, and that it is up to each individual to determine how time will be spent.50 Years AgoDennis Miller, grandson of Dr. O.T. Linn, Bourbon, has a role in the television program "The Rifleman" to be shown Dec. 6. He was recently featured in the GE Theatre show. Dennis, who played Tarzan in a movie last year, is now concentrating on television film work.75 Years AgoMr. and Mrs. O.E. Glant, of Leesburg, recently entertained at dinner, members of their family.
