    Judy Reneker, owner of Reneker's Sports Shop, was named Woman of the Year, and Bob Sanders, owner of Bodkin Abstract Co. Inc., was recognized as Man of the Year at the annual banquet of the Warsaw/Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce.

Steve and Bruce Shaffner, owners of the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Entertainment Complex, received the Dimensions of Excellence Award for general business.

    Winners in the Warsaw Racquet Club's Sno-Ball women's doubles tennis tourney were, Joan Baldwin and Diane Burnett, Division 1; Martha Beeson and Alberta Montgomery, Division 11; and Sandy Nadaiski and Marie Bonifield, Division 111.

January 20 1959

    Fred McKown Jr., of Warsaw, awarded the McKown trophy to Atwood cheer leaders Sue Lane Anglin and Penny Swanson. Atwood's cheer leaders were selected as the best at the county basketball tournament. The third member of the Atwood trio, Frances Sechrist, was not present at the championship game. Each year Mr. and Mrs. Fred McKown Sr., of Warsaw, present the award. Their three daughters, Mary Jane, Sonya and Jeannine, were all cheer leaders when they attended Warsaw High School.

    Seven candidates were initiated into the Elks Lodge recently.

Those initiated into the order were Joe Johnson, Louis Breading, Rueben Williams, Jack Whiteneck, Roy Cox, Donald Beebe and Richard Weiss.
