   The Rozella Ford Ladies Golf League held its awards day at The Boathouse Restaurant in Winona Lake. Nine-hole winners were: Pat Miller (Flight A), Carrol Sumpter (Flight B), Peg Garber (Flight C), Betty Walson (Flight D). Handicap nine-hole winners are Lois Baker and Betty White. White was also the 18-hole winner, and Nancy Brown was the 18-hole handicap winner. Marge Wright won the sportsmanship award, and Barb Eaton was named the most improved player.

   Several members of the Triton FFA chapter and their advisor recently attended the FFA National Convention. Dan Williamson, Todd Watkins, Todd Smith, Brent Landis and Jack Kochert left Triton High School on Tuesday after school and arrived in St. Louis that evening. They toured St. Louis and traveled to Kansas City for the convention. Thursday, they attended the convention where they heard several speakers: Vice President Bush, Secretary of Education William Bennett, Lee Iacoca and Roger Stabauch.

   This is the month to buy Christmas gifts – and trees – and attractive Ann Blackford, 17-year-old Times-Union Calendar Girl for December, finds a large assortment to choose from at the Flag Pole site on East Winona Avenue, where the Warsaw Optimist Club has 1,000 trees on sale to provide funds for its boy’s scholarship project. Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Blackford, Warsaw, is a senior at Warsaw Community High School.

   About 20 members of the Young People’s class and Christian Endeavor Society of the Christian Church took Rachael and Harry Gigeous, recently married, for a ride in the school hack Tuesday evening. The group stopped at the Double Dip and were served refreshments with compliments of the newly married couple. Ruth Griffith was in charge of the affair. Mr. and Mrs. Gigeous are making their home in Warsaw.
