    Two Warsaw police officers were honored by city county recently for their role in capturing four suspected armed bank robbers on New Year's Eve.

Patrolman Joe Hawn and Cpl. Eric Coburn received commendations for what Police Chief Craig Allebach called "exemplary service" in a high-risk situation.

    PIERCETON - The Whitko School Corp. district will have two less school buildings by the 1985 years.

In a 3-2 vote the Whitko School Board agreed to close the Sidney and Larwill elementary schools as part of a $2.5 million construction project.

January 19 1958

    Warsaw transfer and storage operator Herman Himes has been granted possession of a dog house as the final act in a property settlement of a divorce action filed by Beatrice I. Perkins Himes.

Himes not only received and accepted the dog house, he is also to have title to lots numbered 24 through 27 inclusive, and 38 and 39 in Lakeside Park addition to Warsaw, on which to put the dog house.

    The Mentone Egg Producers' Association recently shipped the largest number of eggs they have shipped any time this season. The car contained 676 cases, containing 30 dozen to the case for a total of 243,360 eggs worth probably at the time of delivery at the market at about 15 cents per dozen or around $3,000. Two weeks ago eggs were selling at 26 cents per dozen. Yesterday they were 20 cents and today they had dropped to 16 cents per dozen for large eggs. Above were prices being paid by dealers to producers.
